Then you might as well get a can opener. :)
What it takes to be successful in the college environment? Many students dont even have a clue about it, they understand good and bad grades in a general way, and they sense that they should attend classes (i should've attend my past classes thou :( ), but that is where their knowledge begins and ends. Most instructors know what a good student is - and is not. For one thing, a good student is not necessarily the most intelligent individual in the class.
This would be my wishlist if i CAN travel back into the past.(nah, This would be Habit and Attitude that will and won't make student success.
Successful students attend classes regularly. They are on time. They listen and train themselves to pay attention. If they miss a session, they feel obligated to let the instructor know why before class begins, if possible, and their excuses are legitimate and reasonable. They make sure they get all missed assignments (by contacting the instructor or another student), and understand specifically what was covered in class. Successful students take responsibility for themselves and their actions.
In the other hand, some students tend to do the opposite of the above. They are those who are LAZY, these laziness can be a habit if ones tend to stay lazy. Their assignment would be as simple as a.b.c, (my guess would be an overnight work ; does copy and paste ring any bells to you?)not to mention the final look of the assignment.(crappy as scramble eggs). As for those who are infected with laziness, they will talk out loud and for sure they will stare out the window when they have any chances even when the lecturer are giving lessons.
Lets just hope that kind of student would change their way of studying and rid of those laziness.
And.. as im saying : You are your own best motivator. Your motivation must come from within yourself. Others may try to encourage you, but you are the only one who can attain what you desire. You must convince yourself - you can!
